why a kindle 1 owner hates his kindle 2
I am giving this a 1 star based on owning the previous version of the Kindle.
I hate the 16 shades of gray - there is no way to control it and the contrast between text and pictures is no longer as good. It is harder to read.
I hate that the text spacing between the lines is now closer together. it makes it harder to read. If I wanted text to be close I could buy a regualar book.
I hate the new button positioning. You have to hold the Kindle 2 near the bottom to make your fingers line up with the button. Its like holding a long stick - - It is unbalanced and there fore makes it seam much heavier. Your fingers will not line up with the buttons if yu hold the book balanced and are more likely to hit the home button instead of the next page.
I hate that it now takes 4 seconds of holding in the button in to turn it off. The old flick the switch off and the Kindle is off was much better.
It does not come with a cover. The old cover was nice as you could also put the strap around it for better protection - or loop you hand through the strap while it was opened and still hold it comfortably and securely. Now because of the misweighted holding, I feel as if I am more apt to drop it.
I am really having a lot of second thoughts about giving away my Kindle 1
