When hope meets assured reality...
Spoiler alert (if this can be any more spoiled)
"Oi! Why don'cha feast on dis!'
Yep. That about sums up the Wheel of Time for me. Let's get into it.
The first episode is a slow plod of introductions of characters that are decent and some not so decent. But, what really should be mentioned is how old, small and forgotten this The Two Rivers is. Everyone there knows one another. Everyone there knows each other's business and cares or doesn't care about each other.
So, when a trolloc (a mythical creature from out of an ancient past no less) is seen, an elderly grandmother type watches as it kill and then proceeds to eat someone she obviously knows. How does she respond? She responds with:
'Oi. 'Ow about 'aving a feast on dis!?' whilst brandishing a pitchfork and then killing this creature with no effort whatsoever...
If this level of disconnected direction doesn't throw you off, I will be surprised if the vast amounts of cheese won't.
I will watch the rest so me and my wife can laugh about how off the mark they landed with this series.
