A Generic Fantasy Hoping to be more by Stretching the Dead Skin of Lord of The Rings over it
For a tv series the visuals are pretty good. $60 million per episode, I believe it. Unfortunately, that's all this show really has. Its feels like a generic SyFy channel show written in modern times. The pacing and tone are all over the place. It feels like each 10min block was written by a different person writing in different genre style. The dialogue is ok at best and extremely cringey at worst. So why a 1 stars? Well, its not Lord of the Rings. This is supposed to be an adaption, and it is clearly not. The show runners made it clear that they were going to do their own thing and they did. This is an generic fantasy hoping to be more by stretching the dead skin of Lord of The Rings over it. It just comes out rotten and sad. If you want to do a fantasy, just do your own fantasy and make a name for yourself. All in all, if you are not a Lord of the Rings or Tolkien fan its pretty ok. I would not pay for it, but if already have amazon prime, its free so.....
