Stick to their boxer briefs! Moab 10 was a bust - literally!
I love it slash totally hate it.
The bag has a cool design concept. It is made of material that seems extremely durable. The zippers are robust. There are so many interior pockets of all shapes and sizes, I cannot imagine anyone using all of them, but I can imagine everyone using some of them. The coolest thing is the hidden compartment for CCW. There is a hydration holes and compartment. There is a large main compartment and a handy secondary compartment. Think rain gear and water bottles not overnight use. The padded sunglass zipper is nice and the phone compartment on the strap is handy. I really liked the molle style webbing, you can attach a water bottle holder or whatever.
As others have stated if you put any kind of weight in this you will notice it digging in a bit on your neck. This may be different to different shaped people though. I kept it light mostly medical and clothes. So it was not really and issue.
So why the one star?
After using this bag maybe 10 times total, I was walking on a trail and the main strap just broke completely off and the bag crashed to the ground behind me. Now I did not have a CCW in there, but it is unlikely you will want your weapon dropped. Or if you were riding a motorcycle, this could have caused an accident on a freeway.
So what went wrong? The main strap which is the only strap since it is a sling style bag, ripped off where the bottom webbing attaches. You can clearly see that it was only sewn on with a few stitches of thread. This area should be super reinforced, since it is the main strap. Mine had about 4 stitches in it.
Product defects happen - one star seems harsh you say!
Customer service was terrible! I feel like there is no integrity of the products.
So I emailed 5.11 the same day with no response. I called the next day and was told that they would email me a return label and replace the pack with a new one. Instead I get an email asking for photos of the damage. So I take and send the photos.
Then I get an email saying the want to see if they can repair the bag in-house instead of replace it. I figure if the person who sewed my bag was lazy with one part they may have goofed up other parts too. So I would rather have a new one - but they insist. Now they have to check with a repair person to see if it can be repaired.
Then I get emailed by another rep who is shocked this could have happened, claims it is because I overloaded it and also wants me to email them photos and wants to know the weight of what I was carrying. It is still packed the same way it was so I drop it on my digital scale and it is a whopping 10lbs including the bad weight. I send her more photos and the weight she requested.
Then crickets....
Another day passes and I reach out again and they say they will replace the bag.
Then crickets...
Now it has been a week and I get an email saying they want to repair the bag, not replace the bag. So I have to box it up and send it off. The email reads it will take 3-4 weeks.
It should not take an entire week to process a return or in this case an unwanted repair - but it did.
So today it is boxed and on its way. Whether it comes back I honestly do not care anymore. I feel the bag can never be trusted not to break and the customer service was so poor, I have lost interest in 5.11 products - which is a shame because I was looking forward to buying the Rush 24 and the double rifle bag they offer, but now not so much.... (Except for their boxer briefs - those are outstanding!)
