Lost power and had an opportunity to use these lights for the first time. They are incredibly bright, which can be good, but for these, not so much. They are bright to the point of being painful. The only suitable use for them is to hang high... very high. Placing on a coffee table or dining room table will not work. Maybe if there was a frosted shade to diffuse the LED intensity, that might help. Regrettably, these will not work for us so will need to look for something else to use during rare power outages, but more importantly, hurricane season. I can see why they are billed out as camping lanterns. Hanging them from trees around the camp site and they might just work as they are really bright. Not recommended for table use or anything where they will be in close proximity to people like is needed during hurricanes.
