I wanted this to work because I had tons of ideas and I was going but many more. My friend was putting it together while I was putting a different cat tree together. I walked into the room and was immediately hit by an awful smell that I quickly recognized from my old days in the science lab - formaldehyde!! Folks, there was no mention of this in the description or I would never have ordered it but there was a yellow sticker on one of the pieces stating there was formaldehyde but at acceptable levels. No levels of formaldehyde are safe!! Example, nail polish, household cleaners (Fabuloso used to have Formaldehyde as its main ingredient but enough of a stink was made that it was removed. The company said it was safe for humans and animals. Ha. It’s not safe at all!!!) Just helping my friend disassemble and repackage it made me very ill and my friend who couldn’t smell it, also wound up with a headache. This should not be in our homes and never around loved ones including our pets.
