The part that contacts the back of the guitar is plastic and rubbed a noticeable abrasion into the finish of my expensive Martin guitar. I am putting a soft adhesive pad over the plastic to prevent further damage. Wish I had thought of that earlier, but now I will always remember this stand every time I look at the back of my guitar. The stand is otherwise perfect, but this is a major design flaw that should have been obvious to the manufacturer, and cheap and easy to correct.
