My wrist measures a hair under 5.5" - I was really hoping this would fit because the specs say the small fits a wrist between 5.5" and 6.7" but when I tried it on it was disappointing. Just by looking at the pictures, it's easy to see the Fitbit has a rather "square" curve due to the structural part in place. There's no way around that part; it just doesn't curve or bend the way you want it to. I overruled my skepticism knowing about its square-ish shape and decided to trust the specs but it didn't work out this time. There's a lot of space on both sides of the band during wear because the structure forces it into a long oval shape (see pictures). At a 5.5" fit, your wrist would have to be really oval shaped (see picture). If your wrist is smaller than 6.0", I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on wearing it at a larger setting higher up on your forearm. If you are set on the Fitbit Charge because of its functional abilities though, I will say it's not extremely uncomfortable to wear it in that shape. It just gets in the way of my clothing and regular activities.
