Coating coming off in beverages, poor customer service
This mug was AWESOME the first two months that I had it. The battery ran out fast, but the coaster allows you to charge it while you're using it and I purchased it for home use so it wasn't a big deal. My coaster did fall apart after a few weeks of sitting on my end table (weird?) but I was able to superglue it back together easily enough. My main issue with this mug is that the coating on the inside bottom of my mug is coming off in my tea and coffee. I have NEVER taken my mug out of my house, and I only wash it once a week or less, by hand. I have never used a spoon in my cup (I don't add sugar to coffee or tea, just a splash of almond milk), I have never dropped it or used it for anything other than drinking hot beverages as it was intended, and I turn the mug off when not in use. I don't feel that I have mistreated or misused this mug in any way, and within three months it has become unusable (I don't want to ingest the coating, I'm sure it's not edible). I contacted the company last weekend about the issue, and got an automated email in response that they received my question and should respond within 2-3 business days. Tomorrow, it will be a week since I have contacted them, and five business days have passed during that time (MTWRF). I contacted Ember on Sunday, Dec. 8, and it is now Saturday, Dec. 14, and I still have not heard from them. I have not been able to use my mug all week, and am frustrated that I spent over $100 for a mug that lasted less than six months. Would not recommend unless you plan on repurchasing within a few months.
