Listen to me!
I am about to save you a lot of money. The original caps lasted about 2 years before becoming brittle and broken. I was shocked when I saw that these cheap plastic parts were $10 bucks each! What a joke. Here is what you need to do. Go to ACE Hardware and buy "Closed S-Hooks". I bought two packs (3 in a pack) for $6 dollars total. I bought 2 1/8 inch hooks for my 1 inch poles but I doubt it matters. One end of the S-Hook will slide down on the top of pole and the other side is there to slide the net loop onto it. Although they are "Closed End" S Hooks, don't worry as there will be enough of a gap to slide down onto your pole. Next, THROW AWAY the stupid plastic caps you have. Now you have rounded metal hooks that provide a lot more support, are safer and won't break. Plus, you saved yourself (in my case) $60 bucks! By the way, there is no way it took me 10 minutes to put the net on myself. Now, take your wife to dinner on me!
