I bought this because I have fine, curly hair and I wanted a flat iron that has adjustable heat settings. I have previously used my Chi, which stays at 375 degrees. Even at 375 degrees on this flat iron, I had to do multiple passes, which I am not used to. It left my hair frizzy and damaged because it is not good quality and I kept accidentally increasing the heat to 410 degrees--WAAAAY too hot!!! There is a lock feature which should prevent that, but it didn't for me so I had to be super careful just to make sure the temp was right. Just invest in a higher quality iron and you won't have these problems.
