I wish I had read the reviews on Amazon more closely when people mentioned that this company would do whatever it takes to get out of their warranty and promises. We got the product a month ago and the air filter broke in that month of use and started shooting plastic all over the house. Given we have pets, you can imagine how dangerous this is. When I called customer service, it seemed like this was a common occurrence. They knew exactly that this happened sometimes and were clearly prepared to do everything in their power to prevent the warranty. First they asked for a video of the broken machine at work. Great. Sent that in. Then after 5 days of silence, they asked for pictures of specific things. Great. Sent that in. Wait another 5 days. They asked some more questions. Responded instantly. Wait another 5 days. Then....finally, a note saying that the warranty didn't cover it with legalese type writing. Do not be fooled by the positive reviews on review websites. I suspect many of them are paid affiliate deals where they are incentivized to review this product well or get a cut of the sales. Despite the economic difficulty, we pooled together the money to purchase this given the California fires burning. This was not money that we could lose and Coway clearly did not care. They didn't care that we also bought multiple expensive filters on the side for the machine. Stay away.
