Not impressed with this product. I purchased this based on the photo for a medium sized cat. In reality, the blade is around 4 inches wide and is the same size as the Furminator we have for our Golden Retrievers. It's hard to run this groomer over the cat without hitting a bony prominence due to its size. Both The Furminator and this grooming brush retail for approximately the same price. I groomed half the cat with The Furminator and the other half with the Pet Grooming Tool to compare results for the purpose of this review. Pros for The Furminator: --Ergonomically designed handle --Self-cleaning blade --Solid design --Extremely effective at pulling out the undercoat --Sturdy blade protector for when product is not in use. --The fur stayed in the blade until released by the self-cleaner button Cons for The Furminator: --Pricey Pros for Pet Grooming Tool: --It was on sale Cons for Pet Grooming Tool: --Product not as shown in photo --Handle is not as comfortable as The Furminator --Flimsy and not especially well-made --Removed a fraction of the undercoat compared to The Furminator --Does not have a self-cleaning blade --Fur flew all over the place during use Addendum to review: After posting this review, I was contacted by DakPets offering me an unsolicited refund~with strings~. They claim they would be happy to refund my money IF I would ~first~ remove my honest review of their product from Amazon. Well folks, this is my $16.99 review. This Amazon reviewer will not be bought. This substandard product from DakPets is going to the Goodwill. I have purchased the small Furminator for my cat. It's worth every penny. The quality is exceptional and the size is perfect. The product on the right is the small Furminator.
