★★☆☆☆
It's an iron, but not that fantastic. Does not last very long before dying.
This is a good iron, but not a great iron. It's about the equivalent of the 20 dollar Walmart iron that it replaced (which had a softer and longer cord, and automatic shutoff with an alarm). It's made in China, even though it claims to have been designed in Germany. My biggest gripe is that it had water in the tank when I got it, and had scuffing that makes it look like it's used, not new. Did I get a refurbished iron for the price of a new one? All those five star reviews had me expecting something a bit nicer than an ordinary clothes iron. It is lightweight - until you fill it with water. It has a fairly large capacity, which is great, but then it's much heavier. Not really a big deal. The description/title calls it "Professional Grade". That's just hyperbole. It's an ordinary iron. A professional seamstress or tailor would have an iron with a large gravity-fed water tank and a flexible hose. The bottom line is that it's a good iron, but not great. It irons shirts and slacks as well as any other iron. There's nothing really to rave about. A good iron at a lower price would do the same. UPDATE After less than one year of use, the iron turns on, lights up but does not heat. Time to do the ole "Made in China Shuffle" - throw it away, and go buy another one.
