First of all, my sincere apologies for exposing you to the *explicit* photographs in this review, but words alone cannot convey my disappointment with Purina Friskies. To compensate for my inability to rate it below a one star, I had to resort to pictorial aids. By way of background, this is the first time our two-year-old has had any problem with his food. He has never vomited before, or had any digestive issues. Indeed, aside from the annual vaccination shots, he never had to visit the vet. The happy chap partakes a variety of dry and canned foods from different brands since he was 2 months old, with no problem at all. Recently, we decided to give Friskies a try. High ratings on Amazon. Happy parents. Why not, we thought. However, 8 cans in and the poor lad had already produced 4 splashes of undigested discharges on my floor, all within half an hour of his meal. Initially we thought it was because he ate too fast, so we tried to give it out in portions. No use. Then we thought maybe he was ill, or had hair balls (what kind of cat vomits four times a week to get rid of hair balls I have no clue). Just before we took him in, we thought we would experiment with a different brand of wet food. Just in case. So we picked up a medley of canned food (from various *other* brands; actual names omitted in case this is seen as an advertisement) from the local pet store. Voila! That solved the problem. The boy has not vomited again since. Well, yes. I haven’t covered all the possibilities here. Maybe his stomach just doesn’t agree with the Friskies formula (which could be a splendid choice otherwise). Maybe we just got unlucky and received a bad batch (despite the lack of any visible damage to the cans or mold). Heck, maybe our furry pal just decided to act up to get our attention, or just because. But we wouldn’t put him through another test with this product again. Would you?
