When I first received this box, I loved it. The cats took to it right away and stopped using the other litter box. I wanted something larger, more aesthetically pleasing, but mostly I wanted a second litter box since I have two cats. The first thing I noticed was that the filter wouldn't snap in correctly. Upon inspection it looked like the plastic had melted. Not worn or torn, but actually melted off. I figured it wasn't a huge issue and continued using the box. The second thing was the litter. It gets everywhere, the tray seems to do very little to stop them from tracking. For reasons I have yet to understand, more litter is getting on the floor with this box than my previous basic covered one. Then, two things happened: first I noticed a strong cat pee smell and realized spray had been leaking out of the sides of the box. As I opened it up to investigate further I noticed what looked like black mold growing inside the side of the box. I didn't even know mold could grow on plastic, much less ever thought it would be a concern in my cats litter box. After a few months of use, I would not recommend this litter box to anyone and would strongly advise to look for something else.
