I don't like giving bad ratings for products, but given our experience with this sharpener and despite all the positive reviews, I'm a little disappointed in this product and feel the need to share. I was looking forward to using it after reading that it would be relatively quiet, easy to use, and could cleanly and evenly sharpen a pencil. Unfortunately, this sharpener was none of those. It was loud and squealed with use, required a substantial amount of force to operate, and all of my pencils came out with unevenly sharpened tips. I even tried to angle the pencils on the unevenly cut side to see if I could get a straight cut, but that just ended up making the other side uneven. Now, perhaps I received one that was defective and this is not the experience of most. If that's the case, then this is a quality control issue that the company needs to deal with. Update: I contacted the seller to do a return of the product. They were happy to oblige and did a refund within 24 hours. (This review was not a factor as it had not yet posted.)
