I'll start by saying that this bag is adorable. The graphics are colorful and great. It's a perfect size for a kindergartner. Unfortunately, the quality does not match the aesthetics. It has not held up for us at all. We bought this bag for the start of school in September and have now had to retire it. (It's February.) She is not unusually hard on it and uses it only to go to and from school each day. The bottom of the bag developed some small holes very early on, which irritated me but since she's not carrying any small items in there, wasn't too much of a problem. But, in the last month, both of the zipper pulls on the large pocket have broken, and because they are not fully fused (the top part of the zipper that the pull attaches to is not a complete circle, it has a little opening), I can't attach ribbons to them to work as a pull. I guess I could take it to a cobbler or tailor and have them replace the zippers but I really don't feel that should have happened with only 6 months of regular usage. (Carrying a folder, lunchbox, water bottle, and two small stuffed animals to school on the bus each day.) I am really disappointed that this bag is no longer useful, especially since we bought it along with the matching lunch box, as a special set for our mermaid loving daughter as she started elementary school.
