We bought this mixer about 3 month ago after reading such great reviews on Amazon. The first mixer we got worked great for the first 2 month, until one day, while preparing bread dough, the bowl just came off and started flying around the mixer actually getting someone hurt. We called KitchenAid support and were very happy to hear that they would replace the mixer free off charge. About a week later we got a new mixer and were very start using it again. To our surprise not only did the mixer make a strange ticking noise from the engine but once we used it to make bagel dough the bowl just wouldn't stay in place and started to fly around the mixer again! of course Kitchen Aid support are sending us another mixer but this is outrages! They only provide warranty for 1 year, so if this is a recurring issue, it might just happen again once the warranty period is over and then we will have to replace parts at our own cost! This is a very expensive mixer and not a one year appliance. KitchenAid should provide much better quality than what we got from out two mixers. Think carefully before buying this mixer if you are love making bread, since as it seems this mixer just doesn't hold up to the expectations, and probably just not build strong enough for making bread dough. We are very disappointed with this mixer so far, hope the replacement will be better and doesn't brake apart again (especially not after the warranty period is over).
