Like most beet root supplements, low nitrate content
A researcher, working one floor above me, has been studying the effect of beet root juice on human performance for quite some time. The key component is nitrate and the therapeutic dose is 4 mmol. Of 25 products tested only a few reached that level. I had this product tested and it came out 0.22 mmol / gram. Pure Beets recommends 1 scoop which is 6 grams. That equates to 1.32 mmol of nitrate far from the therapeutic 4.0 mmol. It would require more than 3 scoops to come to 4.0 mmol. Lakewood Organic Juice would be the best value. 500ml (approximately 16 oz) equals 18.77 mmol. Do the math, 4oz would provide more than 4.0 mmol.
