I made the mistake of pre-ordering this book. I have read all of the Gabriel Allon books , and although the last two have not been up to Daniel Silva's earlier books, which I had enjoyed very much, I did order this new one in hopes that it would be better. Several chapters into The Cellist, I knew I had made a mistake . I can't imagine such a poorly written and woke book as this for the international market. Who wants to relive the pandemic over and over in a spy novel? I give it one star reluctantly. It really insults my intelligence for an author to expect me to pay for such dribble.
