I have contacted Oster directly via there website, as well as via this forum, and they continue to dodge a very fundamental question. - Namely what their DuraCeramic coating is actually made of. The only information they provide publicly, and in their private response to me, is what the coating does NOT contain. So I tried re-iterating the question, to ascertain what it actually DOES contain, and they promptly stopped responding to all my efforts to communicate them - even deleting the question from a few public forums. This is SHADY & SHAMEFUL on Oster's part, especially since others like me have very valid concerns due to chemical sensitivities. I suspect that the plates have a form of Aluminum - which you may or may not know is associated with Alzheimer's disease when ingested - as many cooking surfaces are prone to low level leeching, that turns into high level bio-accumulation in the body over time, and with repeated use of the product. Especially if you purchased several of their DuraCeramic products like I did. ...So it's not acceptable for Oster to continue to dodge this very pertinent question and NOT provide a full list of what the coating actually contains.
