Recording, storage, mounting are serious issues.
I have two dozen Wyze cams in use. I have sensors and a Wyze scale. I am really familiar with their products. I have not had a significant issue in 2 years.
The new outdoor cam however, leaves much to be desired. There is no SD card slot on the cam, it's on the required base station. Literature states you can connect up to 4 cams to one base station. That would mean 4 cams recording to one SD card. They really want you to I'd love something to help with stretching or massaging. Like a yoga mat or a self massager or if you have an idea of something a storage subscription. The plans are not expensive, but it galls me to think that they set this up this way by purpose. The base station cannot be located more that 60 feet away from the cam. So much for putting them in the barn. Mounting options are limited with the supplied hardware, but the tiny screws need to fit the tiny mounting holes in the plastic base are a joke. If a bird hits the cam it will likely fall from the mount. It may fall even f you modify the base using larger screws because the cam is held to the mount by a magnet. This is not secure fir an outdoor security cam. Theft is too easy. Think you know whole stole it? Think again. Recording, storage, mounting, connectivity, are all issues to stick with the standard Wyze cams which are awesome. I put 4 of the indoor v2 cams on my patio, inside Wyze outdoor housings, dug a small trench, installed plastic pipe, ran power to a weatherproof junction box containing a USB hub. Cams are wire to the hum, some with extra long USB cables, and the system works perfectly. The expense was small, requires a little tie, but anyone can do it. The latest addition is an infrared floodlight aimed at the areas of cam coverage so I can see beyond the range of the cameras' ir range.
