I just moved into an apartment and figured it was time for an automated machine to control odors since I couldn't leave a box out in the garage any more. I have two cats. I read the reviews and this model came out on top for avoiding odors and was in about the top three. I was doing my best to avoid buying a Litter Robot as $500 seems like a bit much. Long story short, I have never scooped as much poop or touched as much dirty litter in the last 10 days as in my entire life! The larger box for multiple cats is silly. You want a larger waste disposal area; No one needs more than one cat in the littler box at once. Pretty much, you have to replace the disposal container every day and a half. The litter requires manual "combing" at least once a day. Bottom line is that if you can't afford a Litter Robot, get a regular box and scoop it yourself. By the time you get finished dealing with this toy and its expensive disposal boxes, you can afford two LR's withing 6 months. Words cannot describe how disappointed I am about this item. And I am suspicious as to believing internet articles that say this unit its a top competitor. It's a toy. So unless you have a toy cat, buy anything else.
