Not USDA, China Seed...
Nearly 80 agents are currently authorized to certify farms and businesses to the USDA organic regulations. Most USDA-accredited certifying agents are allowed to certify farms and businesses anywhere in the world. Farmers, ranchers, and processors may choose to work with any USDA-accredited certifying agent. You can get the list on USDA Website and contact such entity to confirm if they have inspected and issued USDA certificate for such food producer or not... Now look at this brand closely, do you see any certification stamp by an authorized USDA Organic agent... Seeds, nuts and fish are great source of minerals and nutrients in my diet. For vitamins I rely on vegetables and fruits. Three nuts from many, many nuts and seeds that I consume on daily basis are PUMPKIN, SUNFLOWER, ALMOND and for 100g serving size; CALORIES 541 584 575 FAT CALORIES 384 431 414 SATURATED FAT 43 22 19 PHYTOSTEROLS(mg) 0 534 0 VITAMIN E 0 166 131 VITAMIN K 64 0 0 CALCIUM 4 8 26 MAGNESIUM 134 81 67 ZINC 50 33 21 IRON 83 29 21 POTASSIUM 23 18 20 I have purchased and compared different brands of pumpkin seeds; From China: conventional and WF $7.49 and organic $5.99, Now Foods $5.99 organic $7.49, Sincerely Nuts $6.99 and more for organic, Eden $13 and more for organic, Frontier organic $15 From Mexico: TJ $6.49 From US: Red Mill $13.68 ($7.68 for 6lb packaging) FOOD TO LIVE: Not USDA organic, not certified, no certification agency, from China. CONCLUSION: Seeds from China which were the organic as well as the conventional tasted the same, looked the same even by different producers, all smaller in size than TJ. TJ is the biggest in size. Red Mill had the most broken pieces than all and as and small as from China. TJ tasted the best even better than the WF organic. I do not know how WF can sell organic for such a low price but they do. Red Mill is too expensive, pumpkin seed is full of natural oil which will go rancid if those bags are not consumed quickly at $13.68 a pound and for conventional pumpkin seed not a consideration for me. Majority of the greens sold are from Mexico and they have no water problem so TJ pumpkin is fine. China is questionable regardless even when sold by a reputable establishment like WF since I never trust China for any food ingredient due to many corruption and misrepresentation, and regardless the taste is no better than TJ pumpkin seed from Mexico. The Red Mill 6lb for $7.68 is much better bargain than single 24oz bag. The rest of the sellers have nothing but misrepresentation and lies on their packaging and their labeling.
