Well I bought two of these in April. I have used them only a few times each and not for long periods at a time. Yes, they did get hot, but nothing terrible. They are fast in USB 3.0. Overall I liked the design and the function of the drive when it worked. However what I do not like is plugging one of them in and seeing that it has 0 out 0 bytes free and will not open. It cannot be formatted with Windows or Ubuntu. It cannot be partitioned, with windows or another program. This drive is DEAD. This happened awhile ago, I am just now going through my order history here and saw this pop up and noticed that I cannot return it due to being out of the 30 day return period, and decided on a review. Thats another thing, 30 day return period? Are we not expecting these to last very long? I think it did last just a bit more than 30 days but there was no more than 8 uses on it. So all the data that I had on it ... gone. So before you buy this I would really suggest not making this your primary storage for anything important, always have a backup somewhere else.
