Check the Manufacturer's Date to Ensure It's Current - You may have an old device even though it's new to you.
We were very excited when it arrived and have been looking forward to it, however, we had noticed the manufacturer date was 10/15 (4 of them) and 1 with 01/16, We were disappointed because this is the date Kidde uses for their 5-year warranty coverage, which means these devices were already one year old, and 10 months old, respectively. This also means the carbon/gas detectors are just as old.
Check the manufacturer date on these devices and make sure it's current, it's too important for you and your family's safety to just settle, we promptly returned it, asap.
Hopefully, Amazon will help improve their inventory and enforce marketplace vendors to keep high standards, especially when it comes to life saving smoke, carbon monoxide and natural gas detectors.
