I replaced my old metal shower drain cap with a tubshroom. The tubshroom does indeed take another couple of showers to clog up. BUT, once it does clog up, and it so definitely does, it's a total pain to clean all the hair and soap scum from the device because the hair is threaded through tons of tiny holes. You need to take it out of the shower and laboriously pick at the thing over the toilet, it takes a good two minutes and is of course a disgusting process. Compare that to my old metal cap, where I could just reach down and scrape up the "mat" of hair and soap scum in a single motion. Still disgusting, but a 2 second operation. Also, the tubshroom got little black splotches on the silicone which I couldn't scrape off. Not sure if the material itself was degrading or if it was black mold. Either way, not happy about it! I tossed the tubshroom in the garbage and put my old metal cap back in the shower. The search continues.
