I did a lot of research before I bought this product. I was a huge fan of everything! The amount of food it holds, the voice recording, and sleek look of it. I was so happy with it. We set it before we went on vacation so my cat would be fed three times a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner and we set it to a meal size of 7. (We wanted to make sure he had extra food if he wanted it since we were going to be gone for 5 days.) We set off for vacation, we left Friday night and returned Wednesday night. After getting home we realized that he actually didn’t get fed. The level off food in the holder was the same amount and I’m not even sure he was being fed AT ALL. It completely reset for some reason and changed all the setting. It claimed it was feeding him breakfast and dinner and serving size one!!! The video I took and posted is of it despensing this same amount it claimed to be feeding him the whole time. (If it was feeding him any because like I said when I opened the top it looked like there was still the same amount in there it was soooooo full). We had it constantly plugged into the wall so there was no chance of it dying while we were gone. I also know that there was no power outage in my place because we have an electric fire place and any time the power cuts out it obviously shuts off and needs to be turned back on by hand. And when we got home it was still on. This feeder, that I was so excited about, shorted somehow and restarted and barley fed my cat for five days!!!!! He was so hungry while we were gone he was eating my gum. He pushed over seasonings to lick it. He was eating the food scraps from the tinfoil ontop of the oven.... I was so excited for this product, but it did not deliver like it was suppose to. I got home and realized how hungry our cat was and the weight he lost from barley eating for five days I cried. It was HEARTBRAKING knowing he was probably so confused as to why mom and dad would leave him alone so long without food. We are sending this back to get a completely different item. It’s devestating. Update: After contacting the company they filled me in about the back up battery plan. Now I’m not so sure the batteries would of helped if it was the product shorting with the internal components. But if it had something to do with the power it would been nice to have a backup.
