Disagree with most other reviews here... This thing is a heap, not really a good value
I added this to cart, bought it "semi impulsively." If I had spent more time thinking about it, I would definitely have bought something else. I already own a V60 drip cone, so, I would not be using the metal filter or decanter at all. So what I'm left with is $15 or $20 worth of electric kettle for my $30. The kettle body is thin, scratchy metal that I guess is stainless(?) that gets extremely hot, and stays extremely hot. I think it's got black powdercoating, the lines between uncoated and coated surfaces are sloppy. The positive lead in the base is spring loaded (or mis-aligned, I am not sure) and it shoves the very light weight kettle up, so, it does not sit flat when empty, idle. Boil speed is about what I expected. Having a gooseneck spout is a tremendous advantage when making pourover. I have not had any of the leaking issues others reported. I would definitely recommend boiling off and then discarding a few pots of water BEFORE consuming water boiled in it, there are still some lingering odors after a week of use. The Mueller brand is not "european" or "austrian" quality - - this is all medium-low tier stuff built on an assembly line in some far off land, packaged up and rebranded. I will "tough it out" with this kettle, sort of hope that it fails so that I can justify buying something nicer. If you don't own a kettle, I would advise against buying this one. If you are enticed by the reusable cone filter, don't be. It's an inferior method of brewing, flat out. <update> mine is leaking at the seam between the body and the base - after about three months of daily use. I just noticed it today, it could have been going on longer for all I know... Avoid like the plague. ALSO - don't bother sending in for the free milk frother, it's extremely cheap, flimsy, not worth putting batteries into. I threw mine away.
