4 out of 4 dead
I bought four of these to put around my girlfriend's house after she spotted a prowler in her yard one night. I put two on the front of her house, one on the side and one in the back. After almost a week, none of them work. Now, I have lights like these (another brand) on my house, and they work perfectly. I know that you have to use a pin tool to activate them. Well, on the Baxia lights I put on my girlfriend's house, the instructions say you should hear a "click" when you insert the pin. Well, there was no audible "click" on any of them when I pushed the pin in. But I pushed the pin in as far as it would go, so I presume the lights were activated. I know that the lights need a certain amount of sunlight to work, but these lights are mounted on three sides of her house ... you would think that at least one of them receives enough light to charge its batteries. Now I have to drive an hour back to my girlfriend's house, climb up on a ladder and take the lights down to see what's wrong with them. I find it hard to believe that all four lights could be defective. UPDATE: Well, I went back to check the lights and I got two of them working. I probably had pushed the activation pin one too many times, after not hearing a "click." However, two of the lights remain dead, so I am keeping my rating of the product at one star. I will be returning the defective lights.
