CAS# 7681-11-0, F.W. 166.00." Not so! These are NOT "USP" grade and they are NOT labeled as such. Apparently, the seller is not aware of federal law and the "misbranding" provisions in the FD&C Act. Suggest you buy "Iosat" which are FDA-approved and labeled appropriately. Note: Although "USP" grade may in some respects be "less pure" than "ACS" grade, it remains that only USP grade is suitable for human use. ACS grade chems may be of high purity but ACS grade may also contain unknown amounts of toxic materials that would NOT be present in "USP" grade materials. These toxic materials may or may not be very hazardous to your health. NEVER use chemical grade compounds for preparing items for human use. Yes, I'm a former USP volunteer. Bottom Line: Kudos to the seller for selling very high purity KI. Very high condemnation of the seller for apparent violations of the misbranding provisions FD&C Act and selling to an unprepared public. Get Iosat.
