WOW, oh WOW, this story is very addicting and intriguing! I LOVE IT! This authors mind seems amazing! They are building all of these different characters. All sorts of different personalities, objectives, and traumas. They all have one thing in common and it is good!!!! EEK!!!! Unfortunately, this new Kindle Vella is DREADFUL!!!! It’s like a tv show, only you don’t know how many episodes or when they’ll air. It’s like a box office movie, only they stop in various increments and send you home for another day. That day may be a few days from now or next week! Eee gads!!!! If I get hooked on a book, I NEED to finish it, when I want to finish it! There is such a delay in new episodes at times, that I forget who is who. Which is super frustrating. I have taken notes sometimes, so I remember. I also forget who, because I’m not about to read 1-2 episodes that are available that week. I’ll weeks to rack up episodes, so there’s actually some content to read. Too many frustrations with this Vella format. THEN, you have to buy tokens through Amazon, in order to read more chapters. However, you have zero clue as to how many tokens to buy. How many will we need?!? The chapters cost different amounts of tokens. Some seem reasonable, but then the costs go high at times. The costs are all over the place. I cannot figure out how that’s determined. The episodes are not massive pages either. EDIT: it seems token amounts are based on word count. 4600 words = 46 tokens. I believe 50 being max. Still NO idea how long this story will be and we’re already up to 50 something chapters. Amazon does give every customer about 500 free tokens I believe it was. That was like a drug pusher to get you hooked. With me it worked 😩, for this book ONLY! Each week you can vote for your favorite Vella. WHELP, that right there seems to lead the author to publish 1-2 new chapters late Sunday or Monday, each week. Then they can get a top ranking. I believe top ranking makes unsuspecting Vella customers, interested in the top story. EDIT: the pages scroll up and down. Not like a book and I forget about this often 🤣. A bigger annoyance. After you scroll down, you’re stopped to read a blip by the author and pay your toll of tokens. After reading 50 “chapters” now, I’m tired of the authors blip. I’m engrossed in the book. Don’t take me out to pay my toll and read your more often than not opinion of how fun that chapter was or how there’s more of this character to come. Obviously 🙄. Her opinions previously were cute/funny, but every single “that was a fun chapter to write”. I’m over it. I’d like the option to purchase some of these Vella books in full, not as a Vella, but it doesn’t seem like that’ll be an option, bummer.
