I have some serious back pain due to a disc and sciatica and was looking for a sturdy, easy to convert sit to stand system that was affordable that I could bring into work. Although the specs on Amazon do give the dimensions I was surprised at just how large and heavy (30 lbs) this item was. It is definitely sturdy and I had no problem fitting a monitor as well as the phone and other items on the top shelf as well as a keyboard on the bottom shelf. A mouse pad had to be tucked under the edge of the keyboard since the keyboard (bottom) shelf It is not quite log enough for the full keyboard and a mouse pad angled on the short edge to both fit. A little tight but it works. What I don't like about the product at all is that I do not find it easy to convert and raise it from sitting to standing. Because the locking mechanism is at the back of the item on each side I have to bend and lean over the desk and try to raise it up. As someone who is both short and has severe back pain I can't even do this. There are also no instructions that come with the product that talk about recommended levels for proper posture or even how to raise the product up and down! I will need to see if the company has a website with any more info. In short, if you are looking for sturdy this seems to do the job. But, if you have a floating desk like I do beware how heavy the item is and how much desk space it takes up. Also, the product would be better if it had levers at the front, not back, on each side so that you can raise and lower it easily and from a seated position without bending over the desk to lock and unlock it and try to wrestle it up and down. I don't know if I can recommend this product for short people (under 5'3) or people with back pain who can't reach and bend to lift the trays. I will be on the look out for a better item that is easier to convert but not sure if it would be worth returning it at this point. It will cost a fortune to ship back both size wise and weight wise. Also I recommend that the manufacturer include some instructions.
