Nearly killed me.
One day while bringing the saw down (I’ve been using these for over 30 years and needed some light fencing cut) it seemed to miss the floor slit and caught the green plastic—-the entire saw jolted (I had bolted it to a stripped down top of an antique sewing machine (which was heavy for a reason! and think that’s what saved me). the right “flange?” The piece That kept the wood in a straight line during sawing...RIPPED OFF and flew straight towards my throat/jugular. I quickly tilted (it felt like slow motion) and it missed my neck narrowly and embedded itself into the Sheetrock wall behind my head (a depth about 1/2-3/4 inch with about 3 inches protruding out.
I was in shock. And stunned.
Pretty sure I got the protection plan but “where is it listed since it’s not “material?”
It’s been less than a year (7 months?) and it’s not showing up as even returnable. I could replace that side piece by the problem is the “floor of the saw”. It Didn’t align right.
I was wearing safety gloves and goggles (not that it would’ve stopped a 4-5 inch jagged blade of flying shrapnel.
Suggestions?
