I was getting tired of lugging my roommate's big vacuum to my house. So I hit the buy button on this highly rated machine. And am I glad I did! Coming out of the box, it looks like a pretty little toy, dark blue and bright orange, maybe for a child to use. But after an easy assembly, I was amazed at how effective and light and maneuverable it is. Turning the handle slightly allows for directing the 10" wide floor piece around furniture legs and under low furniture. Finally I can vacuum under the bed. The machine gets under a cabinet that is 4.5" above the floor. No more dust mops! It's quiet too...no more ear plugs like with the big screaming vacuum cleaner. The handheld 'dust buster' part is the main part of the vacuum, capturing the dirt and housing the lithium-ion battery. It does a fine job on crevices, small pickup tasks, catching flies and moths, and so on. Suction is strong and easily handles the stuff that bigger vacs often have trouble with, like pine needles, dog furballs, and general dirt from outdoors. Yes, it does a fine job on carpets, too, at least on my throw rugs. The rotating brushes do as good a job as the big vacuum, maybe better, especially on long stringy things like those pesky pine needles. The hand held device is very easy to disassemble and clean, which I do outdoors with the garden hose. The paper filter is sturdy and withstands cleaning with water. They even include a spare filter. Everything is designed simply and elegantly. The sturdy plastic surfaces are smooth and readily cleaned up. The tile floor in my 1100 sq. ft. house is cleaned completely on one charge. The vac stands vertically on the recharge station in the corner of a room, 3 white lights flashing to indicate charging status. It takes maybe a couple hours to charge back up. I am so pleased with this sweet little vac, I plan to get one for my sister. Highly recommended! New review, April 3, 2021 Well...disregard all the glowing comments I just made. To my great disappointment, the vac has failed. Despite thorough cleaning of the unit, it will no longer pick up even the modest dirt and debris. Brush has stopped spinning. Light flashes on and then goes dark. Hand vac part still works, but the upright floor feature is useless. And I had even bought one of these for my sister. I am so embarrassed about that. :( So now I give it a one star rating.
