Am I the only schmuck who actually had to pay for this thing?
I recently PURCHASED this Snow Thrower and had a chance to try it out. At the time of purchase all the reviews were five stars and NONE specified that they were "Vine Free Product" reviewers. I trusted the reviews and confidently ordered the product and anxiously awaited it's arrival. Upon arrival I unboxed it and put it together without any issue. After charging the batteries I got a chance to give it a try on plenty of fresh snow. When the machine runs, it does ok on a couple inches of snow, any more than that and it struggles mightily. My biggest complaint is that the motor stops running very often for no reason even in very light snow with little to no load on the motor and freshly charged batteries. I understand it's a lightweight machine not meant to clear deep/heavy/wet snow but when I can't keep it running continuously throwing a couple inches of fresh light snow I'm quite disappointed. Furthermore, I was very, very unhappy to look back at these reviews to see (at that time)16 total reviews for the product and not one of those reviews was by someone who actually PURCHASED the machine. I trust Amazon reviews and for the most part they are EXTREMELY helpful but in this case I feel that they are quite misleading. I'm not one who typically returns products but this machine absolutely does not live up to reasonable expectations and will be returned and I'll order a much more powerful gas powered machine with very, very positive reviews by customers who have actually chosen the product, paid for it, and used it successfully.
