I bought this crate because my dog likes to just have a little place of her own to rest. It was not meant to be something she was locked in for several hours a day. Upon receiving it, it looked incredibly sturdy and high quality, just like the AspenPet brand one we have and I thought for sure I wouldn't have to return it, so I threw the box away (dumb mistake looking back now). A day later, my dog went in to the crate to take a nap and so I thought nothing of it and didn't remove her collar (because who would remove their dogs collar if they're just going to be around the house??). I heard her jolting around in there and obviously struggling, and then a few seconds later I hear her actually struggling to breathe. So I get up to check on her and her collar was lodged in there, choking her, to the point where I couldn't even get it out of the door, I just had to unbuckle it completely so she could breathe and stop panicking. Her collar was not too loose or too tight so I don't don't know how this really happened in the first place. I have never had a problem with any of the higher quality crates we have bought before and I love Amazon basics quality of almost all their products so obviously I am very disappointed. I'm very disappointed also that I cannot return it anymore because I threw away the box already. I'm also very shooken up over the situation because what if I had been gone for hours when this happened? I am really only posting this review to warn other people in hopes that this happens to no one else's dog.
