Don’t buy if you use a Mac; video quality and software issues
The software that is meant for the Brio does not work on the Mac so you lose the 4K quality. Also, you are not able to zoom or pan or tilt the camera picture on the software - those features are grayed out.
Logitech says this is a known bug. The workaround is to install the separate Logitech gaming software package which allows use of pan, zoom, and tilt. The gaming software has to always run in the background in order for it to keep the settings. That is a memory hog. I use the camera for video conferencing and do not have the time to start the gaming my software before every con call so I have to keep it running...
Given the lower video quality you probably should spend way less on a still-respectable camera.
How a company can make a peripheral like this that is meant substantially for creatives that doesn’t work on a Mac is beyond me.
Other notes: this uses a USB-C cable that plugs into the back of the camera. This is nice since you can buy a longer cable and swap it out. My Mac sits on a shelf that is about 8’ away so this was a selling point for me. (The other end of the cable I bought was a standard old-fashion USB jack.) the newer MacBooks have USB-C ports so you could go straight through with -C on both ends. some of the cheaper cameras have a non-detachable cord so check that when deciding.
The mic is pretty decent, no issues on con calls.
