These filters are great if and only if you are lucky and get the real ones. When I bought them for the first time, I loved them because I could see the difference between these and the others I was using. However, the last set was obviously fake. I did not read the negative comments, so I did not realize getting a fake product was a risk. I bought them from Amazon.com LLC :o/ I do not know who was the seller that provided these to Amazon though. How is the counterfeit noticed? First the presentation. The original came in a nice box. Every filter was wrapped up on a tight plastic and had the Filtrete Logo covering them. The fake ones come wrapped up in a loose plastic, some have a little paper stating the Filtrete Logo some don't. They do not come in the large, sturdy box the original came on. Second, the originals have the stipulations such as MRP, etc. The fake may not have any specs stipulation. Third and most importantly: they do not work as well as the original. The original last long (3 months depending on use, pets, etc.) The fake ones get dirty in 2 months and do not filter as much dust as the original. So at least 1/3 less efficiency. I would say a 40% less efficiency considering a number of allergens they left in the environment. I know this because I have a cat with asthma and with the fake ones, his attacks have been more frequent! Finally, the coin dropped and I realized that the filter contributes to his increase in asthma attacks. In addition, I have allergies and I noticed that they were more frequent. I initially blamed it on my city's pollution but I think the fake filters may be the main culprit. It is really bad that some crooks play with other people's health to steal money. I am now researching for good filters where the counterfeit problem is not so bad. I also have learned that I have to be more vigilant with the performance and quality of the filters. Also, I should have gotten the seller's attention right away if I notice something wrong.
