I used this umbrella outdoors for work, three or four times a week, for two months. After about six weeks, I noticed black flakes on my hands--and realized they were coming from the umbrella's handle. The matte finish on the handle was flaking off; I could continue peeling some of it off with my fingernails. So I removed as much as possible with paint remover. (I don't know if this was heat-related, however my umbrella does remain in a sometimes-hot car when I am not using it.) After two months' use, the closing mechanism failed. The stick was jammed open and I could not push the umbrella into the fully closed position. I contacted the manufacturer for the lifetime replacement warranty and was encouraged at the quick response and offer of an immediate replacement. However... their next communication indicated my color was out of stock--that I could choose another color or wait 1-2 weeks until my color would be available. I opted to wait, and was instructed to let them know as soon as I saw it available on the website, and they would take action at that time.
