DANGER: This glass juicer broke into pieces while being washed. We had this juicer for just about a week. We never washed it in the dishwasher, handwashed only. My wife was washing it this morning and it broke in her hands into about 9 large pieces (and several small shards) in her hands. She has two cuts, one on each hand, one from a shard and one from a larger broken piece. She wasn't using very hot water to wash it, wasn't banging or knocking the juicer against a hard surface, just holding it over the sink and washing it with a sponge. She has arthritis, and doesn't have the hand strength to exert excessive pressure on it while washing dishes. She was holding it by the base, not the handle, when it broke. I believe that this product is defective. I don't usually write reviews but I think this is dangerous and it seems like something that others should know. I'm attaching a photo of the pieces we picked out of her hands and the sink this morning. The broken glass is in a box, along with the glass filled sponge and the paper towels I used to pick the pieces out of the sink.
