I've been buying and using various electronics gear for over 45 years. Panasonic used to rank high, so I gave this guy a whirl... three times. First one worked pretty well for about 4 months with a decent picture. Then, the discs started to rumble and make lots of noise, so I requested a replacement. Got the next one and it was having trouble reading discs that were in perfectly fine condition and the sound faded in and out and could not differentiate well between sound types. I thought, okay, this unit gets pretty good reviews, it's a Panasonic and I like that it's casing was metal, so I gave it one more chance. The third one's picture was badly distorted, the sound was also funky and the disc door was abrupt and noisy. So okay, Panasonic as a name means nothing anymore. And yes, it was all properly connected, good HDMI cable and no issues with the TV. Three strikes and yer out! Off to find somethingbetter...
