If they ship you a defective product, you are S.O.L. This coffeemaker is great, and makes great coffee: if you get a working unit, you'll be glad you bought it, and it tends to last a long time as (most) are well made. But you can still get a bad or damaged one from the distributer, in this case aSavings, will refer you to the fine print on their warranty which says that certain products, for "hygenic reasons" are non-returnable - even if they ship you a defective product. Amazon's so called "guarantee" which supposedly protects you from sleazoid internet dealers, doesn't apply if they tell you upfront (even if they hide it) that you're stuck with defective products. Buy this direct from Technivore, or a local store you know will handle returns/repairs in a fair fashion. Don't get this from Amazon.com or aSavings: if you have the bad luck to get one of their damaged/defective versions, you'll be screwed.
