Did you know there is a corrections page?
So I recently started a baking blog where I test out new recipes and try to learn new skills. I shopped around the amazon bookstore in our neighborhood for a few weeks looking at baking cookbooks and fell in love with the recipes and beautiful photos in the Bake From Scratch volume 1. I ended up ordering the book online and as soon as it was delivered, I devoured the recipes trying to decide what I would make first. I dipped my toe in the water with the buttermilk drop biscuits. There were simple ingredients and quick steps to follow. I followed them all and my husband described them as "these are like licking a salt lick!" I contacted the publisher to see if they realized their recipe called for a tablespoon of salt - they told me to refer to the corrections page on the website!!! WHAT!!! I NEED TO CHECK THE CORRECTIONS PAGE BEFORE I TRY A RECIPE??? I looked and there are lots of corrections! The correction they sent did not actually address the salt issue and when I e-mailed them back, they never replied. I really really don't want to keep looking for corrections before picking out something to make. I made a few more recipes and looked at the website for corrections before baking and have had issues with almost every one that I have tried. I'm so disappointed. I will be looking for a new cookbook to use and promote on my blog.
