Terrible calibration and Voltage Measurement Increases drastically with the screen on!
Don't buy this Multimeter, it's not worth the plastic it's made of. Based on the high review score and the good question and answer section I asked for this multimeter as a christmas present as an entry level meter. DON'T! It's poorly built and it requires that you unscrew it to replace the battery. The worst part is that the voltage reading on the meter is EXTREMELY inaccurate and WORST of all the readout CHANGES BASED ON THE BACKLIT SCREEN BEING ON OR OFF! I was flabbergasted when it read 145V AC on my wall sockets and 10.8V DC on my 9V battery, and then it read 165V AC on my wall and 12.3V DC on my 9V when I turned the screen on. DEPORABLE. None of those are to spec in their description which states: DC Voltage: 200mV/2000mV/20V/200V ±(0.5%+2), 500V (0.8%+2) AC Voltage: 200V/500V ±(1.2%+10) Which means that max I should've been off on the 9V was 9+(9*0.005)+2 = 11.045V, but I read 12.7V with the screen on. Some of you are going to say that it should've been +-.5% off of 100, even that only comes out to 11.5V, not 12.7. The same exercise applies to the mains 120V example.
