I liked none of these people
I honestly have no idea how this book is so highly rated.
I honestly cannot remember a mystery novel I have read before where it was so painfully obvious who did it and how a quarter of the way in. The writing was okay, but the 'mystery' itself was bizarre and the characterization was god-awful. I liked none of these people. They read like either morons, monsters or cardboard cutouts. The ending is ridiculous and has this bizarre thing in it which is never explained - sort of like if a unicorn wandered through at the end to spear someone on its horn and then disappeared in a puff of glitter and none of the characters thought this worth remarking on, nor did the author itself, so the book ends with you going... what the hell just happened there?
I can only assume that people like it because its cheap. It IS cheap, so... if that's your only requirement, and you do not care about logic or plotting or puzzles or characters, then this is the book for you.
