Another Hollywood Redux?
Well, I haven't seen it obviously, but I hate it when producers take it upon themselves to update the storyline to make something more politically correct. Whoopie Goldberg is no Mother Abigail! Why not the woman who played Denzel Washington's mother in American Gangster? Plus, Larry Underwood was a white rock and roll popstar. On the other hand you couldn't beat Ossie Davis as the Judge in the original. Probably King's greatest work. I'll watch just to see how far the script/casting diverges from the original work.
