This is not a writer's pen
The Microsoft slim pen is well constructed and has a nice feel to it when you hold it in your hand. However, I am a writer of notes (using Windows Journal or OneNote), and this pen is worse than the standard Microsoft surface pen. The standard pen allows you to choose different tips, and as a writer, I like a feel to the tip that gives some resistance, much like you feel with the eraser part of the slim pen. The slim pen does not allow you to change out to different tips. The tip gives the feel like you are writing on ice. As you age, you don't have the steadiness and accuracy as when you are around 25 years old. I'm 68, and that little bit of resistance to an ink pen is nice, making handwriting much more legible. The standard ink pen allows you to use a HB tip (as well as other tips with a different feel), which provides some resistance. The slim pen has only one type tip. It may be good for artists, but not for writers. I can't recommend this product. The very slick feel of the tip means you will make a lot of tiny quirky marks when you write.
