First, I have to say I’ve loved Sarah Maas’ other series. Having read them both multiple times. I love the rich and multi faceted worlds and characters she’s created. However, that is in great contrast to this book. From the first page, details and names and worlds and gods are just vomited—no careful construction. No beauty. Just a barrage of words and people and fractions and names that mean nothing. In addition, I understand that this is her first “adult” book, but as an adult I don’t need a lot of language, innuendo, and sexual content to make me feel like an adult. It actually comes off as very childish and very less “adult.” This book doesn’t even feel like Sarah Maas wrote it. I didn’t even finish it. Next step is to see if I can return!
